It would seem as though your complaints about the increasing costs of pushchairs are on the rise, as well as a reported upward trend in the amount of problems being faced when receiving pushchairs including wheels falling off, steering faults and buggies folding incorrectly.

Consumer Direct had over 1200 complaints in the year up to February 2009, an increase of more than 50% on the previous year. Over half of these complaints were on products that cost over £300, the exact products that you would expect to be of a better quality due to their higher price. “Some of the more expensive products have a lot of parts and can be difficult to fit together” said Victoria Pearson of Which? Magazine. She went on to say that their tests have revealed that although pushchairs are becoming more durable overall, there are still examples in the industry where there are wheel fixings that are not quite secure enough and have locking mechanisms that are difficult to work.
